The prices

For the transport in town, ask Axum about the current prices, depending on the number of persons in the minibus, the time of the day or night you want to use the bus and for how long you need transport.

For the excursions departing from Addis, for half a day or for the whole day, or for several days, ask Axum to make you a proposal, depending on the number of people in the bus, the lenghth of the trip, the number of days you want to travel, whether you want him to book a hotel for you or not etc.

For the round trips organised from Europe, we have chosen to give you global prices including all your expenses, so that you can have a clear idea of the budget you will have to plan for.

You will find the list of all possible tours under the chapter "Trips organised from Europe", with a complete description of each trip, and the prices for the accompanied version( on a basis of 6 persons) as well as for the non accompanied one (mini groups of 4 people).

Our groups will not exceed 8/10 persons, so as to make it possible for us to guarantee an individual care for each participant, and a good quality service. At the same time, we do want to avoid the feeeling of "mass tourism" in the sometimes remoted areas we go through, in order not to shock the local population and give respect for them.

GROUPS ACCOMPANIED FROM EUROPE: In this case, one european guide will travel with the group, and stay with you during the whole trip. This person will take care of all your small problems, of the communication with the drivers, and will also give you a lot of information about the areas you go through, the everyday life in Ethiopia, the habits etc. She will not replace local guides who are sometimes compulsory on some sites such as Lalibela, Gondar etc., but will be additonnal source of information. This will be the case for each tour of at least 6 participants.

GROUPS NOT ACCOMPANIED FROM EUROPE: In the case of minigroups of 4 persons, it will not be possible to add someone to accompany the group, as the group already has to share the costs for the car and the driver, and the costs for one more accompanying person would make the bill really get high... Still, if this is your case and you feel that you would have liked to be accompanied allthrough, just ask us and we will make you a proposal...

The prices include: the driver and the minibus, the accompanying person (except for the minigroups of 4 pers.), the hotel accommodation, on a basis of double or twin room (small supplement to be added if you need a single room), full board and non alcoholic drinks during the meals, entrances on the sites, local guides, boat tours, tips for hotels and restaurant's staff etc.

The prices DO NOT include: the plane ticket from Europe to Ethiopia (more or less 500-900 euros, depending on the ailrline and time of the year), alcoholic  drinks, drinks outside of the meals, personal expenses such as presents and handicrafts, small tips for the local guides if you have been satisfied etc. They also do NOT include your passport costs, visas, injections and eventual travel insurances ...

NOTE: Axum is very careful in choosing the hotels, but you have to know that the local standards might be different from the european standards, and you have to be aware about the fact that you are in Africa! In some places, you may have some problem with the electric power or the water supply, and may have to face some small problems with not completely closing drawers, windows, leaking tapes etc. Please, remember where you are, and just take it with a smile...
